Google Ambush Review Part 1- Product Finder

The first tool provided by Google Ambush is the Product Finder. As the name implies, the Product Finder is a tool to help a Clickbank affiliate find a product that can generate revenue. Basically a Clickbank based search engine, at the simplest level the Product Finder either allows browsing of Clickbank’s affiliates or keyword searches using a variety of rankings, such as gravity, popularity, and product types. So…

Can it really help find the best selling Clickbank products?

Veteran Clickbank affiliates will quickly note the similarity between the Clickbank search engine and the Product Finder’s layout. However, the Product Finder is more than just a front end for Clickbank’s search engine. It also shows a variety of information less commonly available on the products you need. Indicators clearly display the recent trends for recent changes in product gravity, including the overall changes over the last day, the last seven days, and the last thirty days. Exact changes for these benchmark values are available by scrolling over the indicators, giving an idea whether they were small fluctuations or significant changes.

Even more details are available through the View Trends data. Here, the commonly available information on gravity, earnings per sale, and other vital clickbank statistics are available in a simple graph format, allowing easy investigation of the performance of the product over time. This greatly simplifies selecting a winning product, as it becomes easy to determine at a glance whether a product is a steady earner, unreliable, or on a decline. While the same information could be compiled by hand, this would require checking each interesting product daily and keeping records of the various statistics – generally not a productive use of time when a powerful and intuitive tool can perform the same task in a couple of seconds.

The only real downside of these graphs is the lack of useful time scale. Presumably the ticks along the bottom of the graph are days, but this isn’t explicitly stated anywhere, and there isn’t any easy labeling to indicate relative benchmarks like weeks. However, considering that the most vital information is the overall trend, this is a rather minor point – the general shape of the graph alone is enough to determine how the product has done.

OK, that’s good. But there’s more to the Product Finder than just graphs.

Even as useful as they are, these vital statistics aren’t the limit of what the Product Finder offers. The Product Finder can also be used to evaluate the sales techniques used by the vendors selling their products, another absolutely vital step in the affiliate selection process. Within the Product Quality Checklist tracks six different qualities that have either been repeatedly proven to boost sales, such as good sales copy, auto responder scripts, and one time offers, or provide other tangible benefits to affiliates, such as bonuses for outstanding numbers of referrals. The information gathered from individual sites can then be viewed in a single convenient chart, so relative sales strength can be easily determined at a single glance.

Final analysis…

There are a few minor problems, but overall Google Ambush’s Product Finder is a great tool for anyone interested in looking for a suitable product to sell through Clickbank. Sometimes the time units aren’t as intuitive as they could be, and a lot of the information could be gathered by hand, though the process would be very time consuming. However, considering the time saved by having an intuitive and flexible tool like the Product Finder, the positive qualities easily outweigh these minor imperfections.

So what do you do when you’ve selected a product that will make you a bunch of cash?

Jump right into making a page? Well, I do sometimes, but the experts really recommend that you take a bit more time and effort in getting your direction before you begin any actual writing. In the next part of our Google Ambush review, we’ll talk about what sort of research you can do, and how Google Ambush can help.
